Educating the Next Generation
Jeanne Sovet has taught all of the lessons she offers at least five times, and they represent nineteen years of reflective practice. She has a Masters degree in elementary education and 19 years of experience teaching all subjects in grades three, four, and five.
EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY
Jeanne Sovet is a believer in positive classroom management, praise, empathy, and encouragement. In her classroom, students are free to ask for help, make mistakes, and express their ideas. Her teaching is explicit. She shows and tells students exactly what is expected, and she sits down and helps them.
CREDENTIALS
Jeanne has been involved with the National Writing Project, Lesley University Literacy Collaborative, and has taken numerous professional development courses in teaching elementary reading and writing, including achieving full SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement by the state of Massachusetts. Her proudest accomplishment, she attests, is being in the classroom every day, and participating in the joy of learning.
